Children and Youth

During this time, our worship and time together is digital.

Godly Play and Connect resume online.

Due to the current rising covid numbers and the fact that many people have spent time with family and friends over the holiday/vacation week we are returning to remote Godly Play for the short term.  Some of you received a Godly Play at Home kit last year.  Please let Sarallyn know if you need additional supplies or if you would like a kit delivered to your home.
We are determining the best time for the Connect class to meet via zoom during this remote time.  We will communicate directly to those families with students in 5th and 6th grade.

We will communicate our plans as quickly as possible as they develop. And we hope that this return to remote faith formation for the children will be short lived and we can return to in-person soon.

Thank you for your understanding as we respond to the situation.  We wish that we didn't have to make this change, but it doesn't seem prudent to ask our children and young people to add another group gathering to their life right now.  Please don't hesitate to contact Sarallyn if you have any questions, concerns or thoughts about the children's faith formation program.

Ages 3 - Grade 6:

At First Church Natick, we use the Godly Play curriculum for children ages 3 to grade 4 and the Connect curriculum for children in grades 5-6.  Our Godly Play and Connect ministry teams combine an interest in children with an eagerness to explore their personal spirituality through the lessons of Godly Play and Connect

We provide opportunities for leaders to attend both internal and external workshops to enhance their ministries and deepen their own spirituality.  We welcome your participation in this vibrant ministry!  Come visit one of our Godly Play or Connect Worship Centers to witness what we are excited about!

For additional information about our Godly Play and Connect Ministries, please contact Sarallyn Keller, Director of Spiritual Vitality and Congregational Care, at sarallyn@FirstChurchNatick.org or (508) 653-0971.

Grades 7 - 8:

A junior youth group for those in grades 7 - 8 meets two Sundays a month from 5:00 - 6:30 PM for the Our Whole Lives (OWL) sexuality education program.

Grades 9 - 12:

The Senior Youth Group, for those in grades 9-12, meets twice a month from 7:00 - 8:30 PM to spend time in a safe space with their peers and leaders.

These Sunday night meetings are a safe space for:

  • worshipping in a relaxed and interactive style
  • forming deeper relationships with each other
  • sharing about the stresses and challenges of their lives
  • celebrating their victories and milestones
  • learning to look for God in unexpected places
  • growing in faith and in group leadership
  • serving their community together

Members of both youth groups also participate in worship leadership during our Sunday morning worship services, as well as our annual Maundy Thursday intergenerational worship service and potluck dinner.

Our Confirmation class is offered every other year for our 10th and 11th graders.  It will be offered next in Fall 2022.
