Members of First Church Natick

Vote Unanimously to Embark on Capital Campaign

On June 13th members of First Church Natick voted unanimously to embark on a capital campaign to raise $750,000 to fund restoration of the church steeple and improvements to the church interior.

In voicing their support for these projects, members acknowledged that we are the caretakers of our historical building, which stands as a beacon of our faith and figures prominently in our downtown as a treasured landmark to many in the community. Members also noted that improvements to the interior will create an accessible and flexible indoor space that honors the historical purpose of the church as Natick’s meeting house and renews it for future generations. In focusing on accessibility, members affirmed the need for a physical space that mirrors the welcome that is central to our calling as a congregation. In voting unanimously, all expressed FAITH IN OUR FUTURE and, with a nod to our forebears who built this home we inherited, that it is now OUR TURN! to carry it forward to the next generation.

While the steeple work has already begun, during the months of July and August the capital campaign teams will be busy at work behind the scenes preparing for the public phase of the campaign, which will kick-off in the early fall. During the July and August period, you may be contacted by one of the capital campaign team leaders with the opportunity to offer your input and expertise. Additionally, if you are interested in joining a team, please contact the capital campaign co-chairs Doug Hanna and Gail Martin, or contact Peg via the main office (admin@firstchurchnatick.org).

Stay tuned for more information and other exciting opportunities as the campaign progresses!
